Day 60-62, So punk'd by my Boss

Without a solid itinerary, and research on travelling within N.Ireland, I left Hall at 0700hrs, just simply trusting that my Boss gonna save the day. From Victoria Coach station, I took a coach to London Standsted airport: 1hr50min The flight was ultra freaky. There was so so much turbulence from take off to landing. I thought to myself, 'If I die, I die.' - 1hr30min The after shock look upon touch down. (The plane jerked just before the wheels meet the ground) Shot at Belfast City (Capital of N.Ireland) I asked around for directions, and consulted people on the streets on how to get to Coleraine (The most most North of Northen Ireland where the cliffs meet the Atlantic Ocean) Took another coach down to Coleraine: 2hrs Shots from the bus This is Slemish mountain in the far ground, where St' Patricks grew up as a young boy tending sheeps in the field with the status of a slave. Upon arrival at Coleraine. Almost died. I asked the bus inspectors for a bus guide and they informed me that on sundays, the buses operate once in 3 hours.... and there was no way i could get to church the next morning. From Coleraine, I had to take another bus to the country sides at Bushmils, where I booked my accomodation. Another bus ride... 20minutes At Bushmils, I gave my Bed and Breakfast host (Mabel) a call and she drove her Jaguar down to pick me up. She has an ultra strong Irish accent. Sounded exactly like Olive from 'Popeye the Sailor man.' I had such a hard time straining my ears to try and figure out what she was trying to say. But boy was she nice, kind and friendly. Look very motherly right? The house was extremely out of the way and inaccessible though it was a stone-throw distance away from the sea cliffs. I asked her if most of her customers had car. She replied 'You are the first customer in my 11 years of business to come w/o a car.' Seaview Bed and Breakfas Double bed and Chio toilet all by myself. Shioks By the time I reach the Home. It was 1730hrs. The sun was about to set. I thought I would just walk by the sea cliffs as far as I could go before it gets dark. Mabel gave me a torch light in case I get lost in the dark. As you can see from the pictures, a storm was coming in. It was freezing cold and my hands felt as if a few thousand needles were piercing through them. Looking at the waves, they looked as if they were ready to swallow the whole coast down. I had never seen such BIG waves in my life. The rain came in and I felt really terrible in such bad weather. I had no choice but to turn back to the Home. It was a real depressing day for me. Spent the whole day travelling and accomplished nothing but travelling. It was too dark to get out and I do not have any vehicle that can bring me anywhere, the buses do not serve in my area as well. I spent the next 6 hrs (1830hrs- 0030hrs) watching TV in my room. How sad it was watching movies like 'Stuart little 2' 'Miracle' for my first night in Ireland. I was telling my Boss. 'Why did I get myself into such a situation? Super depressing, super lonely! Please God, I need to know that you're with me.' When I finally switched off the lights to sleep, I could hear the waves hitting the cliffs which was real cool. After 10 minutes of closing my eyes, I was awaken by a very strong light. I opened my eyes and saw my whole room illuminated!!! 'I thought 2nd coming sial!!' I looked out of my window and saw a BIG ship shining its light into my room... Chey...

Day 02 in N.Ireland

Breakfast was supposed to be served at 9.00am and I woke up at 9.05am. Mabel knocked on my door and woke me up with her 'Popeye the Sailor man accent' 'Hey Yang-us! Are you doing ok?' I rushed to get everything ready because she offered to give me a ride to church!!!! I was so punk'd because there was no way I'm gonna get there by myself. And which Bed and Breakfast business will go all the way to help you at such extent without charge?? Breakfast was crazily heavy, I felt as if I ate a cow Mabel's signature Irish Breakfast The Reason for my trip Kathryn Scott We posed for a shot based on 'Hungry' My favourites from Kathryn's compositions. Kathryn leading the congregation into Worship Lunch at the worship intern's place Erik, the person that the old lady introduced me to and he took real good care of me. Somehow I feel that this guy look like someone from N'sync JP with his Martin and Co. (Expensive guitar!!!) He was teaching me how to play 'Daugthers' by John Mayer It was mother's day and many were rushing for the last bus with flowers for their family dinner. The never-ending Costal Causeway I don't know how far, whats ahead. I'm just gonna walk and trust This place is call 'White Rocks.' Reason is obvious right? Beautiful coastal landforms Sea Arch (Do you know how are they formed?) Still walking..... The point where I started to run Dunluce Castle The triggering picture Shaun Possie- The Good Samaritan with the Camera from 'SIM LIM tower' Sitting in his Audi. Shiok lah! The oldest Church in Northern Ireland An Old poet that the whole village felt was a lunatic resides in this house Black Death Shaun and Sham at the Irish pub sipping Irish beer Look at how terrible I look when I returned home I was watching TV in the living room when 2 ladies walked in. One New Zealander and one Australian, both in their mid 30s. And so we talked about the places we have been to and the travel itinerary for the next day. And it happen that we were both heading to the same place. So I became thick skin and asked 'Do you mind if I join you guys?' (Because they have got a car!) The fireplace Good place to spend your time with God

Day 03 in N.Ireland Somehow, I was woken up at 0645hrs and I don't know why. I was still in a daze and when I was about to go back to sleep, I heard a deep calling from God. 'Angus, look out of the window.' I struggled my way to the window and when I looked out.... It was the first time I have seen snow in my 23 years as a human being. I remember I saw it once when I was very young in Shanghai, but it only lasted for mere 7 seconds and it was just like dandruff flying around. I told God that if I were ever to see snow, I want my first virgin experience to be one that I could see it when I look out of the window with my sleepy eyes. And he answered that little kiddy prayer of mine. I din even wash up, changed into my clothes and dashed out to enjoy the snow. By 0900hrs, the snow were melting away. Thank God he woke me up! Once again, I had a really heavy breakfast and headed down the Giant's causeway with the Australian and New Zealander. The Giant's Causeway is an area of about 40,000 interlocking basalt columns, the result of an ancient volcanic eruption. You can see from the pictures, the formation is real unique. The Giant's Organ The Giant's Amplitheatre The Story Behind 'The Giant Causeway' 'The story goes that mythical Irish giant Finn MacCool built the causeway to get to Scotland and battle with a rival giant called Benandonner. When he got there he found that the Scottish giant was asleep but also far bigger than himself, so Finn returned back across the causeway. When Benandonner woke up he came across the causeway intent on fighting Finn. Finn's wife dressed up her husband as a baby and when Benandonner arrived she said Finn wasn't home and to be quiet not to wake up the baby. When Benandonner saw the baby he decided that if the baby was that big, Finn must be massive. So he turned tail and fled back across the causeway ripping it up as he went. All that remains are the ends, here at the Giant's Causeway and on the island of Staffa in Scotland where similar formations are found'

Geography at work. Freeze thaw action

This is the top of the cliff. Reminds me of where Maria dances with the kids in 'The Sound of Music' I bidded goodbye with the ladies at the Giant's causeway and waited 1hr for the bus that brings me back to Coleraine station. I then took another 2hr bus ride back to Belfast City where I walked around for another 2hours before heading to the airport Belfast City The Belfast City 'City Hall' 'Belfast Eye?' or is it 'Belfast flyer?'

Bank of Ireland with my Rank

Shot delicated to the very dedicated BB Boys George is a very famous person in Belfast, apparently he was some Rugby player? St George Market The different languages of the word 'DREAM' I love that. I have heard the song 'Highway to Hell' This one, I have not heard of H & W shipyard, this was the very place the 'Titanic' was born, made in Belfast Odyssey Arena (Equivalent to our Durian Esplanade theatre from home) Apparently I just missed a Westlife concert PRC Jonathan's House George you best lah Taking the Budget airline is like taking a bus. Once the passengers from the earlier flight disembark, the gate opens and we board the plane right away. Goodbye Ireland! Once I return back at Hall, I put down my bag and went to Gordon's room right away because I was so excited to tell him how gut-bursting Boss was during the Ireland trip.

Credits and acknowledgement goes to Miss Lee and Hariku Chan for teaching me how to use Wins Movie Maker and conversion of files!
